THE ROLE OF Y. L. ARANCHYN IN DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH IN TUVA AND IN ORGANIZATION OF ACADEMIC SCIENCE UNITS

The article reveals the role of the famous Tuvan scientist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, full member of the Academy of Social Sciences, statesman Y. L. Aranchyn in development of economic research in Tuva, as well as in organization of Tuvan Economic Laboratory of the Institute of Economics and Industrial Production Organization of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences – the first academic institution in Tuva.

The author points out the importance of the activity of Y. L. Aranchyn as a mentor of young scientists and an educator, who contributed greatly to the dissemination of humanities, including economic knowledge.

THE RAILWAY TO TUVA: A DEAD-END TECHNOLOGICAL BRANCH OR A CROSS-BORDER CORRIDOR THAT ENSURES THE TURN OF THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY TO THE EAST

The Republic of Tuva is one of the few subjects of the Russian Federation where there has never been a railway line. This fact complicates the development of natural resources and, in general, it slows down the development of the region’s economy. Several attempts to resolve the issue of connecting Tuva with the country's rail network ended in vain. In the conditions of a fundamental turn of the Russian economy to the East, it is possible to return to the issue of the construction of the Kyzyl-Kuragino road as a part of the Russia - Mongolia - China cross-border transport corridor.
