BRIEF RESULTS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATIONS OF 2024 IN THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN REGIONS OF TUVA
The report presents the results of the archaeological survey of the TIGSER Archaeological Survey Center on the territory of three municipal districts of the Republic of Tuva. The exploration team monitored the current state of the ancient settlements of Den-Terek, Mogoy, Kochetovo and the burial ground near the Bosh-Dag mountain in the territories of the Chaa-Khol and Tandy districts. There was found a new fortified settlement of Buren-Khem, located in the Kaa-Khem district. A detailed analysis of the archaeological sites allows us to say that there is a nessesity to take measures for their preservation.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORING IN THE CHEDI-KHOL KOZHUUN OF THE REPUBLIC OF TUVA IN 2023
The article presents the preliminary results of the archaeological exploring carried out in 2023 by the Center for Archaeological Research of the Tuvan Institute of Humanities and Applied Socio-Economic Research (hereinafter TSAI TIGPI) in the vicinity of the village of Ak-Tal Chedi-Khol kozhuun of the Republic of Tuva. The archaeological exploring was a continuation of the research on the territory of the Chedi-Khol kozhuun, which began in 2022 [Chadamba, Kuular, 2022, p. 55-62]. The archaeological works were aimed at searching for previously unknown objects, the subsequent task of putting them on state registration. As a result, we have identified several archaeological sites of different types and clarified the boundaries of the territories of previously known objects: the ancient Turkic fence with a statue, the Suzugu-1 burial mound, the Uzun-Hovu-1 settlement in the Kes-Aryg tract. Also, as part of our research, two previously unknown locations of petroglyphs located in the upper reaches of the Elegest and Henderge rivers were examined and studied. A comprehensive analysis of the materials obtained allowed the authors to conclude that the specified microdistrict is very promising in archaeological terms.
RESULTS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPLORATION IN THE SURROUNDING AREAS OF KAA-HEM IN 2021
In the result of exploration work on the territory of Kyzyl Kozhuun there were found previously unknown objects of cultural (archaeological) heritage in the surroundings of Kaa-Hem. Discovered two monuments are “Kurgan burial ground “Dar-1” and “Kurgan burial ground “Dar-2”. 28 objects of a funerary and memorial nature were identified totally on the area of two monuments. According to their cultural and chronological features, archaeological objects on the identified monuments can be divided into a wide chronological range from the Bronze Age to the Early Middle Ages - the second millennium BC and the first millennium AC.
